A fan event with a deep, dark secret
THE SETUP:
Netflix series YOU explores the story of duality, featuring Joe Goldberg who struggles between being a romantic bookshop clerk and a creepy, mysterious stalker. He does what he needs to do to ‘protect’ his beloved, including trapping people inside a glass cage, hidden inside the bookshop’s basement. The task: create a fan event with Penn Badgley and Shay Mitchell to promote the first season’s premiere in Manila.
THE LURE
Filipino fans get to walk in the same world as the stars of YOU, as Netflix Philippines recreates the show’s iconic bookshop right in the middle of Greenbelt 5 in Makati. One part is the nice, welcoming facade for meet and greet with fans. And the other, a darker side that only a few get to live through. It’s two sides of the story experienced on two sides of the stage.
